Animal Control Advisory Task Force

Assists community programs in ensuring and promoting the proper treatment and well-being of animals.

The Louisiana Animal Control Advisory Task Force is created for the purpose of assisting community programs in ensuring and promoting the proper treatment and well-being of animals. Their work is focused on improving animal control agencies and shelters, supporting law enforcement, promoting education, formulating solutions to address pet overpopulation, and supporting animal control agencies in their efforts to build strong relationships with the communities they serve.

Members of the Louisiana Animal Control Advisory Task Force are appointed by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry and do not receive any compensation or reimbursement of expenses. Task force meetings are held annually at the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry in Baton Rouge.
